I AM
I am someone beyond normal.
Someone strong, someone unique, Someone I like to call “me.”
I wonder if this thing we call life, this thing we call love in our hearts, will ever change for us.
I hear the sound of people talking, their words stabbing like knives in my back. I want to wake up and have no worries, and finally feel what it’s like to a kid for once.
I am someone beyond normal.
Someone strong, someone unique, someone I like to call “me.”
I pretend to be happy, and act like nothing’s wrong, when really everything’s wrong.
I worry that everything won’t get done, and I’ll be the one to blame.
I feel like crying when another day goes by and I have to live my life without my baby sister.
I feel happy when I see that sweet smile on my brother’s face.
I am someone beyond normal,
someone strong, someone unique, Someone I like to call “me.”
I understand that being different is ok no matter what people say about you.
I say I love who I am, but really I have my insecurities just like anybody else.
I dream that one day I’ll find that boy who loves me for who I am, and not judge me by the color of my skin.
I try to make everybody’s day when really I can’t even make my own.
I hope one day this world changes for us.
I am someone normal,
someone strong, someone unique. Someone I like to call “me.”
I am me.
