Desert of Care

My heart is parched
My veins are dried
My love newly starched
to be set aside.

In the desert of care
I find myself alone
I inhale the fresh air
and exhale a groan.

I can feel myself fading
I collapse on the sand
I hear a light grating
as I stretch out my hand.

My heart becomes weak
My hand reaches your fuel
You've been thirsting for me
I've been thirsting for you
