- What Matters
Everyone knew, but no one reached out,
Ignored bruises and scars, my silent shout.
Blinded by my own choices I made,
Unaware how much I needed to be saved.
In trying to heal you, I broke my own heart.
All I knew was together, afraid of apart.
I was trapped in your grasp, no way to break free.
I needed somebody to reach out to me.
Maybe all I wanted was someone to care,
Someone to come looking for me just to know I was there,
Someone to tell me that the pain wasn't fair.
