Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road...

Wow, so at 12:40 this afternoon, one of the worst things that has ever happened to me took place.

My grandmother died in her nursing home.

...So make the best of this test, and don't ask why...

I was at her house in flordia over thanksgiving

when one of the most traumatic experiences of my life happened.

My parents had just left to pick her up and go to target

...It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time...

When they never came back to pick me and my brother up, i got worried

I rode over there and found the ems and 3 vehicles on the road.

I watched as she was carried out on a stretcher to the hospital

She had suffered a massive seziure caused by one of the three terminal tumors on her brain that originated from her lungs

...It's something unpredictable...

So as i was riding back from flordia I was thinking about the times we had together

About how, every year we would go to New Jersey and spend time with her

And how we would always go to the pool and stay there until we looked like lobsters

How I used to play tic-tac-toe with her wooden set

...but in the end is right...

When she was flown to New Jersey to the nursing home she always wanted to be at

We went to see her just like we should have

She seemed fine, less hair of course

But she could formulate words, and she didn't seem sick

...I hope you had the time of your life...

And then today I got the call

She had died in my uncle's arms

I started crying and looking at old pictures of her

I couln't help but to think of all the times that I never wanted to see her

How I would occasionally avoid her

Why? why would I do that?

But i can't have regrets.

So I will be content with her life and mine

And I will be a respectful grandson at the funeral

And I will move on of course

But I will never forget you Nancy
