Prayer for Forgiveness

By
Dear my loving Father
My dearest Father
I’d like to ask for forgiveness
I’m so far away from you

What happened to that me,
So pure, so innocent, so obedient?
Why am I now so filthy, dirty, and rebellious?
Oh please cure me, Lord

I’m too scared to pray
Too scared to open my heart
I want to know you more
But I feel so unworthy

Lord, please take me in your arms
Show me the love you’ve promised your children
Tell me it’ll be alright
And ease this ache in my heart

For Lord, I’m tired of the Devil
Tired of burning with this shame in your presence
I want to feel your light
Want to be redeemed

Every time I feel myself drawn to you
I recoil – I feel burnt
My life’s going down the drain
Will you save me?

I feel my soul cry out
I am drowning in this world
Only you can save me
I need your help

Lord, please take me in your arms
Show me the love you’ve promised your children
Tell me it’ll be alright
And ease this ache in my heart

For Lord, I’m tired of the Devil
Tired of burning with this shame in your presence
I want to feel your light
Want to be redeemed

And now, I feel your arms
Reaching out to me
I feel a warm light
Closer than before

Lord, please take me in your arms
Show me the love you’ve promised your children
Tell me it’ll be alright
And ease this ache in my heart

For Lord, I’m tired of the Devil
Tired of burning with this shame in your presence
I want to feel your light
Want to be redeemed
