One box in three,
your prize is me.
Two, still, the risk runs high.
Which shall you choose,
when all you'll lose
is nowhere near in sight?

What glitters is not
the one you've bought.
The choice you have partook
forbids you love,
and all things of
the value you forsook.

To stand out in
a crowd so dim
of suitors and of fools,
you, brighter still,
chose that of silver
and now must keep the rules.

To the cleverest, are you
who thinks things through-
the prize to be begot
though looks decieve,
who takes must give
if love is to be sought.

O father, pray,
hear what i say,
i doubted this at start.
But now i see,
you brought to me,
the winner of my heart.

*Inspired by the play the Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare.
