Good-bye

By
Her hair was golden
Flying all around
She would play princess
With a wand and a crown

Now there's a soft smile on her lips
She would look asleep
If not so still, so cold, so lifeless
And yet she looks at peace.

I remember squeals and laughter
And shining blue eyes
But now she's gone forever
And I can only ask why

A story left unfinished
The pages crisp and white
It ended so abruptly
Lord please help me to say
Good-bye.
