He's going away
so he says his goodbyes
his wife and kids love them
they start to cry

but he'll stay strong
and try not to break down
his doesn't want to show his feelings
in front of the crowd

now it doesn't matter
his tears start to fall
he knows he may not come back
and that his name could be added to the wall

but he doesn't care
he thinks he'll be alright
even though he's so young
he knows he has to fight

still he doesn't know us
but he still leaves into the air
he wants to protect
we can at least give him our prayer

his friends and family
will wait for the day
when he comes back
and all the tears will go away
