A sweet caramel,
Marshmallow white
And night-black mass of energy
Hurls itself at me.
I am surrounded
By barks, yelps and clicks.
Symphonic sound fills the room
Like sweet tea in a glass.
Liveliness and loveliness
Licks away my dreariness.

Nobly, he sleeps atop his cushions
Like a dinosaur,
Once stunning and vivid,
Now drained of its energy
Naps undisturbed
Through the ages and eras.
My lips excavate
Through folds of fat and fur
To find a rising ribcage,
To implant my evidence
Of absolute adoration.
