I am paper
factory made
destined to be used,
and sculpted into what others
want me to be.
I am controlled
by rules meant only for me.
I am a flower
calm and still
conditioned to keep my thoughts
bottled inside.
Living, but dead inside.
I am not
what others want me to be.
I am the deep, blue-green sea
dark and mysterious,
but bright and joyful
from the outside.
I am on the outside,
looking in.
