Count to Three
When I count to three,
 The pain will be gone.
 But what if I never
 Make it to count three.

 I get to one,
And I can feel the pressure
 That is on my lungs.
 They are gasping for air.

 I get to two,
 And I can hear him,
 Yelling at me, because
I shouldn’t have looked at him.

I want to get to three
 But my brain freezes,
 Because it can’t understand
The pain that falls upon me.

As soon as two is over,
The counting skips back to one
Like a CD or DVD all scratched up
 And cannot go on.

 When I count to three
 The pain will be gone
 But I CANNOT
 Make it to count three.
