New hallways to walk
New conversations to talk
New colors, all around
New bells with a different sound

People stare with mixed expressions
Their inside jokes with strange connections
Stories of what I missed in September
Dozens of names and faces to remember

Everything here is already made
People's paths already laid
Sitting in this place I not yet know
I start to wonder... just where do I go

My first day at my new school... I wrote this as I sat in the back of the room trying to hide in my notebook.

Hmm... I can definitely relate to this poem! You express those thoughts of not fitting in, and not having a place yet which are common to pretty much all of us. Starting at a new school when everyone else already knows each other is a very hard situation. Love the simple rhyme scheme, it flows well and never sounds forced. Thanks for sharing! :)
