Washing Semis

February 19, 2008
By Leopoldo Ortiz, Lake Station, IN

Washing a dirty semi.
On a blustery summer day.
I thought I would die.
I wanted to run away.

Making 8.25 an hour.
Just doing over and over.
My co-worker made me sour.
He drank on the job; I was sober.

One day I found i was robbed.
I grew angry; I quit my my job.

I always wanted to work at this truck wash.
Now I think my dreams are crushed.
Working there made me think a lot.
Now I think I to buy a lock.
