Change is good

So they say
But sometimes change brings difference
And sometimes that’s not what we really want.

Because Fall brings Winter
And Sunday brings Monday
And wind brings rain clouds
And caterpillars, butterflies
Which flit away from our grasp.

And something is left


Lonely left behind
Like the familiarity we knew of



And expected to feel
And something is lost


Lonely lost in the night.
Like the presence we knew of



And expected to see

So, maybe right now is good.
Maybe right here is good.
Maybe today can be good.
Maybe tomorrow can wait.

Change is good
And today is good.
And tomorrow will bring butterflies.
