Home For The Summer
Damp pavement connects with our sneaker-ed souls
The rhythm of our feet will carry us home,
 To where swollen ambers ash
And float carelessly into the star speckled sky.
 Laughing children silence against taps
 Echoing from worn brass.
The water ripples capture cast shadows of the night
Splashing silently up against the chilly lakeshore.
Dancing fireflies are candles throwing guidance upon worn pages,
Sparkling, lively, entertaining the night runners.
