The sand so fine, untouched, and clean
The absence of clouds, and yet vivid sun
The waves are so smooth, and the water pristine
My mind empty, for this moment, alas I am done

The heat that bathes my skin, awakens a craving
The illuminant, tempting vitamin D
The bright teal of my suit that is quickly fading
For my visit to this place is one I repeat

This nook of perfection of this vast Earth
Seldom seen and beautifully simple
Blessings I endure, still none of them worth
The moment I feel when I see this temple

This temple of sun, sand, surf, and expression
A place where I go to release my depression

The author's comments:
As a native San Diegan, I frequently go to the beach. One beach in particular, Blacks, located in La Jolla, consistently serves as a relaxing and refreshing outlet to my mostly stressful life. To express my love for Blacks I wrote a poem.
