A perfect sphere in the night sky,




Shining a soft, pale light in the dark




All alone the moon shimmers, only with stars nearby



Though the darkness is so stark

The full moon shone up above so bright




Cheering up the earth below




During many a lonely night




By its luminous moon glow

The rims of the moon are aglow





Shimmering with beauty and peace




The sky is a deep indigo




All of it is a beautiful masterpiece

If only the moon was always so bright,



Beckoning me to admire it





I would then often sit outside in the cool
night




To enjoy a sky that is purely moonlit
