Blanket of Death
He comes in many ways
Slowly building, a light sprinkling
Becoming worse
and worse
Surprising,
a blizzard of endless questions,
of unsaid comments
He is a powerful master
Death
So beautiful
so destructive
Spreading like a snowflake
Spreading like a virus
Spreading quickly, silently
Never a confirmation
Jumping from a bridge,
like sledding down a hill
Lingering over your shoulder
he’s always around
Dark storm clouds
a visible breath
the shudder passing through the trees
Blanketing the ground
A soft satin lining
Closing blinds to flurries outside
A casket closing down
on an ice cold, snowy white
corpse
