I Need Something to Write About

If I don’t find it,
I will be in trouble.
I’ll feel like a nitwit.
And my brain will turn to rubble.
If I time it right,
I’ll see a sight,
Of a wonderful poem,
That has a decent rhythm.
I’ve been hitting my head on my table,
Not thinking I was able,
To make my idea take flight,
While making my career stay stable.
I’ve been pondering for a while,
Making papers into piles,
Trying to make this worth while,
Doing it bit by bit.
