As the alarm clock goes off,

My heart sinks deep into the dark depths of my chest.

A place where only those I love dearly can touch me. I

hear him rustle on the side of me.

As he gets ready, I turn over to watch, I try

To memorize every angle of

Him. The deep curves of his

Chin, the Adam’s apple jutting

Out like a cookie in one’s cheek.

While we are drive to the army

Base, we klink together our

Rings, the symbol of our

Never-changing LOVE!

In my poem I tried to describe the anguish a wife goes through
when her husband leaves. The thought process that she has, that
he may never return and how it maybe her last time with him.
