Innocence

The child that learns about life for the first time
Or the onlooker, as anxious as
prey on the run
Learning the concepts of right and wrong

and why things do what they do
Natural human character
Unveiled to the world
To show its true meaning
Its real purpose
Its actual value unfurled
Unknowing and unaware

of the consequences of the future.

A naïve, inexperienced soul
Unclaimed by sinful
lust, greed, and hatred
Untouched by evil and

as pure as heaven itself
Until, with guidance
From society
Innocence
Is lost into eternity
Forever astray
In the frenetic depths

of sinful society.
