Let’s say you just broke up with your boyfriend a few days ago,
It was a really hard breakup but you had to do it.
Then he calls you back a few days later.
He says, “Baby, I miss you. We need to talk.”

Your heart drops because it’s like you don’t know what to say,
But then the words I have to think come out of your mouth.
Then he says, “People might as well bury my emotions because if there’s no you in my life then there’s no me.”

That makes you think about your decision even more,
And it drives you insane, so insane that tears start to swell up in your eyes.
The heart wants what the heart wants,
But I guess for now that means not holding onto someone.
