A Voice for the Flowers
Flowers speak to me, sometimes
Their voices travel along the breeze
I thought I heard the poppies talking,
Chatting with the trees
They tell me all about the days
Filled with sunshine and grey rain
And also how their lives have changed
Since time has brought them pain
"Betrayal," they cry
As their vibrance fades away
"That we should fill your lives with color
And still we have to pay."
The Listeners try to help them
But they can only do so much
When the Creator's canvas is tarnished
It needs more than a crutch
It needs the caring hearts
Of people everywhere
So do your part for the flowers
And respect the Earth we share
