There had to be a last time
I waited for Santa by the Christmas tree.

There had to be a last time
I left my tooth under my pillow for money from the tooth fairy.

Or the last time
Grandpa told me stories about him fighting lions.

Or the last time
My dad came to rescue me from monsters under the bed or in the closet.

There had to be a last time
sitting on grandmas lap eating milk and cookies.

There had to be a last time
mom tucked me in bed and told me a story.

Or the last time my brother and I ran to our
parents room during a thunder storm.

I have done so many things
for the very last time.

I wrote this poem in eighth grade and the topic was "The Last Time" and so I thought of all the things I did for the very last time in my childhood and how I miss doing those things.
