I’ve Dreamed Many Dreams

I’ve dreamed many dreams…
But this one branded my heart…
This one included her.
Throughout my unconsciousness she flooded my mind…
Her beauty embraced my sleeping soul.

I’ve dreamed many dreams…
But none so vivid as this…
None have left me with such a longing
To slumber again…
To be with her.

I’ve dreamed many dreams…
But none where she and I were hand in hand,
Floating through space and time
In a sea of stars…
In an ocean of light.

I’ve dreamed many dreams,
But this time it was special.
There we were, riding through emerald green meadows
On stallions of a pure white coat,
Pursuing love.

I’ve dreamed many dreams…
Some included epic battles…
Where I crusaded for her freedom.
In some, I shielded her as we made our escape.
In others…there was no way out…

I’ve dreamed many dreams…
Some held moments of romance…
Where we held one another.
I one, we were in the tranquility of a forest.
In an alternative, we walked side by side on the serene shore…

I’ve dreamed many dreams…
Some held…nothing.
No sight, sound, or smell.
Nothing except us…
Floating with love-locked eyes…

I’ve dreamed many dreams…
Each with fantastical creatures…
But she is the most remarkable of them all,
For, though deeply as I sleep,
I’ve never been graced with her name…

I’ve dreamed many dreams…
Each with a boundless universe…
But when she speaks…
Oh! How her enchanting voice echoes
Through the confines of my mind!

I’ve dreamed many dreams…
Each with a passing cast of actors…
But, no matter what I do, I can never forget her…
And I want her to stay…
To linger in my imagination and to captivate my soul…

Yet, she has recently vanished.
She comes no more in my dreams.
She ceases to accompany me in my nightly adventures.
I am alone in my voyages across the sea.
I am abandoned in my ventures through the cosmos…

Maybe she’ll be back again…
If not to reveal herself,
To at least complete me,
Because I feel a void,
And I weep at my imperfection…

Till she comes again,
Patience will be my watch-word
And serenity will be my creed,
So when her radiance appears…
I will be waiting with open arms…

But,
Until that time…
I can only dream…
