i am shorn from hope
and by hope betrayed.
my love fro you
is battered and frayed
i am thrown in this ocean,
this deep dark abyss
and it is you
that i will miss
you do not love me
as i do you, and this i surely know
that i was too weak
to withstand such a blow
but still i hope, and more still i dream
what we could be,
and maybe it will be enough
to hold on to in this cold sea
and by hope i am uplifted
and by hope i am saved.
