Farewell
I know it’s only 40 minutes away but things will never be the same
He will never live completely with my family
He will never be pushing new, unique music on me
He will never drive me around singing and fist pumping my head
He will never be the last one home to turn off all the lights before bed
He will never be under their supervision or guidance
He will never be there when I am going crazy, or making no sense
He will never be there to make us laugh at family dinner
He will never play scrabble with me, and be the winner
He will never be there to deride my parent’s attention
He will never get another stupid junior high detention
He will never check on me in bed and say goodnight
He will never be measured on our wall for his height
No matter what, one thing will never change,
He will always be my brother, and I will always love him.
