The Darkness

If only I could see it coming.
The darkness that overwhelmed us all.
I did not know what to do,
So I ran, ran far away.
I lost those that I loved.
I will never forgive myself,
For being such a coward.
I could have done something,
Anything!
I just ran, without looking back.
If only I knew what to do,
Instead of being so afraid.
Maybe I could have saved them,
Maybe.
I will never know now,
For I ran, ran far, far away...
