As the new day begins a fresh start is within reach,
but the pain of the past cannot be forgotten.
Like a chain it constricts its prisoner
with judgment that is inescapable.
The source of this ridicule is none other than a weary conscious,
that degrades the spirit and weakens the soul.
It sweeps in suffocating all spreads of happiness
accruing by a fashion unknown for its reason.
Though burdened with a heavy heart,
it is no match for the ones who look upon me with love
and are helpless to my aid;
but my heart will mind and my spirit is strong,
and I will break these chains that have a hold on me.
