Classroom Change

February 6, 2008

I sit in this classroom shaking
Second after second the clock is ticking.
Those memories race through my head
I can't hear a word the teacher has said.

She said to get in our groups to do a worksheet
Faster and faster my heart starts to beat
Right now I want to get out of this place
So I can sit and cry in my own space

She doesn't know what it feels like to be me
Why wont she let me go and be?
I try so hard to keep tears down
I work quietly without a sound.

A tear is set free and now on the paper it lay
The kid across from me looks my way
Her face is empty, I cannot read it
My mind is in a bottomless pit

I want to forget everything that I know
My self-esteem is at an all time low
HELP! is what i shout
My friends will try without a doubt
