Swimming

By
When I step-up on the blocks
I am flowing with an unknown energy.
For the start its quiet and still
Then, beep, and everything goes,
Seconds later I return,
To the place of which this journey

began.
But when I touched the wall,
The overwhelming pain replaces the energy that once flowed,
And then I could hear,
Hear the roar of the crowd,
Hear my sense of accomplishment.
