What if Pain

What if loneliness engulfed everyone's mind like water around an island
as if it performed mind control
whenever someone suffered from weakness and depression

What if neglect consumed our sanity like a lion devouring its prey
as if abuse craved our mental breakdowns
until we reached pure insanity in our lives

What if heartbreak clung to our souls enduringly
as though souls of humans nourished the ravenous beasts
even if in reality, lives shut down by the second

What if war concealed imagination and happiness around the world
whenever people desperately needed positive sources for support
after hearts experienced loss of a loved one

What if life commenced fading away day by day
Until the last droplet of life dissolved into something monstrous
and the world suddenly stopped, leaving everyone hopeless and lost
