You envy their house with the pristine four acre yard
But maybe they envy your home with the under-trimmed half acre yard
You envy their house with the ten tidy bedrooms
But maybe they envy your home with the two tiny bedrooms
You envy their house with the sixteen by nine foot home theater
But maybe they envy your home with the twenty five inch t.v.
You envy their house with the sparkling crystal chandeliers
But maybe they envy your home with the dingy ceiling lamps
Because your children play “Mother May I?” on your lawn
But their children can’t go on it so it stays perfectly precise
Because your children stay up late talking between their beds
But they each sleep rooms away from each other, even the parents
Because your family has Friday Family Movie Nights
But their family has parents working until the wee hours of the morning
Because those chandeliers in their house are just for show
But the ceiling lamps in your home work
Because their family is just for show
But your Family is real
