He, who speeds the night away,
to lie in the flowers,
day by day.
Who touches hearts with his heroic deeds.
And helps those who are in need.
You long for someone at your side.
He’ll be there in a blink of an eye.
Running like, the speed of sound.
His feet barely touching the ground.
Sword in hand,
to slay the evil.
After all,
He was summoned to the medieval’s.
Fast and furious,
Yet cunning and calm.
Whether you are sad or glad,
or very mad.
If you are near or far.
He will always be there.
For he is,
The Knight of The Wind.
He, is the key to saving the land ruled by king Arthur.

The author's comments:
This poem I had originally written as an assignment in my 6th grade year for language arts, and I had recently bought Sonic and the black knight for my Wii. Within the game there is a song sang by Crush 40, in which they referred to Sonic the hedgehog as the knight of the wind. Being a huge fan of the series, and admiring the title, “the knight of the wind”, I wrote this poem, describing Sonic as he is portrayed in the game, and also, somewhat, in his others. This piece ended up sparking a creative side of me that I had never once known of, my talent for poetry, and I have been writing poetry ever since.
