The Power of Words

They say that the pen is mightier than the sword…
But what then, is mightier than the pen?
What gives the pen its strength?
For what can a pen really do?

The real power lies behind the pen….
It resides in the hearts and souls of men.
It comes out in songs and stories.
The real power is in the words.

Words hold more meaning than most will ever know.
A person’s words have the power to heal,
And the power to hurt.
They can do many things.

A person’s words can bring joy, or they can bring sorrow.
They can bring love or bring someone cause for hatred.
They can bring peace or start war.
They can bring many things.

A person’s words can give hope or give despair.
They can give a reason to hold on, or cause one to give up.
They can give a reason to try or fail.
They can give many things.

Yes, words hold power, in fact more than anyone knows.
And one’s words become one’s actions…
Which come forth to show, the workings of a mind …
That is the power of words.
