That Same Slave

First you must know I am every slave that is and ever was
I am that same slave who has been beaten and abused
Mistreated and misused
Never defeated yet I lye confuse
On my place in society
For I know the answer lies inside of me
But first I must decide in me
To confide in me
To declare my rights and liberty
Yet still there are those out there wishing me to fail
Something I’d never inhale
Because I always prevail
And this is my story this is my tale
But then again I am every slave that is and ever was
That same slave sent into damnation
A land full of termination
A land full of strife
For the life of one
With skin darker than that of the whiter one
But then again I am every slave that is and ever was
That same slave taken from the motherland
Sent to live in the other land
Left to die by the southern man
And all the other man
Watchin as all my children are held down
Being bound
Yet we make no sound
No uproar of equality
Of our individuality
Our lack of free quality
Our right to be quality
But then again I am ever slave that is and ever was
That same slave to his stolen culture
Like that of a body to that of a vulture
Wangstas to gangstas
Wimps to pimps
All hatas to perpetratas
Watchin as my culture goes down the drain
Watchin in hurt watchin in pain
The loss of our glory and the loss of our fame
I almost go insane
Deranged
But like I said I am every slave that is the same
Tortured and disgraced
By the people of our race
In that wrong time in that wrong place
And I watch as they embrace
That life of crime
Sellin nickels and dimes
Sellin bags to get you time
Diseases that invade
Cuttin through you like blades
Chlamydia and syphilis raids
HIV and AIDS
The lack of daddies
No family’s happy
Walkin around all sad and sappy
Walkin around all mad and crappy
But then again I am every slave that is and ever was
That same slave walkin around schools
Lookin at the people considered cool
Now I don’t mean to be cruel
But these people are fools
Givin the other man fuel
To send us back into separation
Isolation
Segregation
While we’re stuck back on those plantations
So I say congratulations
To those who are so ignorant and so dumb
Who don’t know where they’re going or where they’re from
Because I am every slave that is and ever was
And every slave that is to come
