Bound as if by Chains
Never-ending feelings,
These feelings of love.
They keep me bound to her,
Like a bird-watcher to a dove.
I know I must carry on,
I should certainly let it go.
Even though she is my life,
She is my love, my heart, my soul.
Her presence lingers on my lips.
Her face is scorched into my mind,
So that I shall always see her,
Even if I should go blind.
I can still feel where she touched my heart,
As if with fingertips aflame.
Those once brightly glowing places,
They now lay limp, unmoving, and lame.
These never ending feelings,
They last longer than any stain.
These feelings of love for her,
They keep me bound as if by chains.
