Through notes and a melody
I’ll introduce you to me

People use deep words and soft expressions
Painful glances or strong impressions
For some, one-liners will do
And for others, they might need two

Their characters are drawn and shaded
A unique personality becoming much too complicated
Before they can be recognized,
They’re disguised

Music is pure and unadulterated
Any veneer can be broken if within it art is concentrated
Real emotions are not smeared with eyeliner
They are transcribed into lyrics designed to inspire

If one put down the mask it would be very plain to see
A heart is like a piano, desperately trying to play in key
Communication in daily life is easily over-read
Songs simplify and elaborate what was intended to be said

Instead of looking at the preluding picture
Wait for the moment that person sings;
On the outside, their composure could be incredibly flawed
But inside one’s music, nothing misleads.

Inside everyone there is an artist. This poem is about how music brings out the best in people.

This is amazing!  I love it.  The best thing about it is that it's so true!  :)
