Icy splashes of water drench my skin
the distinctive smell of chlorine
water burns the inside of my nose
muscles stretch to limits they have never known
with every kick of your leg
you feel pain shooting up your spine
with every stroke of your arm
you feel hot searing pain evoke in your back
feet are torn to shreds by rough walls
with every breathe you know you can go on
