Autumn’s Daughter

January 25, 2008

I am autumn’s daughter
You may not notice me

I am so quiet
as when my leaves fall off the tree

I will live
once you notice me

I will live
once you care
My words are so soft
But my actions are what you hear

My silence is beautiful
You can feel it in the air

I may not be bold
Since I am neither hot nor cold

I provide what you may need
You remember me on Thanksgiving
When you pick out pumpkin seeds

Ah!
Now you realize I’m here...
No I’m not here anymore
I’m so fast
like a thief from a store

I come and go like a splinter
Then it’s my cousin’s turn;

Winter
