Of Beauty Fair and Lady Grace

T’was beauty fair that won thy Lady Grace
-But what fair grace doth beauty tame
To bear the crown of glory bless’d
Upon her dainty head?

For beauty seen but never heard

Or beauty lived but never loved

Create the empty shells of pride

Within thy earthly tomb.

Words be hollow in thy mouth!
And poison in thy ear-
Else fiery passion burn away
The shreds of goodness there.

So burn fair beaut’ of muck and bile
And end this wretched lust!
