I hold Teddy Bear close

I hold Teddy Bear close
As we play in the street
And kids are calling me names
And spitting at my feet
But a fuzzy brown paw
Wipes away my tears
I turn around and find
Teddy Bear is there

I hold Teddy Bear close
As I’m covering my ears
Because daddy’s yelling
And men are shooting
And mommy’s all in tears
But glassy brown eyes
Tell me not to be scared
I turn around and find
Teddy Bear is there

I hold Teddy Bear close
As I’m covering my eyes
Because the men are shooting again
And this time, taking lives
But a sewn on smile
Chases away my fears
I turn around and find
Teddy Bear is there

I hold Teddy Bear close
As I’m covering my mouth
Because the train is full of bodies
And our heads are full of louse
But two fluffy brown ears
They listen, and they care
I turn around and find
Teddy bear is there

Now me and mommy
Are going to a room
They said we’re taking a shower
And the door closed with a ‘boom’
And the gas is coming from the ceiling
And hope disappears without doubts
As our lungs fill up with gas
They’re fighting to get out
And I’m covering my ears
To keep the screaming out
And I’m covering my eyes
To keep the bodies out
And I’m covering my mouth
To keep the gas out
And I turn around and find
No one was there
Where is God?
Where’s my Teddy Bear?
