In your Mother’s Womb
Develop
In your mother’s womb
Somewhere on your life journey
You become conscious
How did your mind unfold from there?

After birth
Newborn
Too young to perform
mental operations
Live in the present
Out of sight is out of mind
We turn our heads
In the direction of human voices
During infancy

Mental abilities surge
Take in the world
Through
Senses
And
Actions
Walk, talk, and remember
Theory of mind

The driving force
Behind our intellectual progression
Is an unceasing struggle
To make sense of our experiences

Symbolic thinking
Constantly trying
To construct
Advanced understandings of the world
Biological growth process
Maturation
Thinking, memory, and language
Proliferate into puberty
