I Am From
I am from the desert roads, never sure where they lead
From the piercing winds the cross the surface of our world
And the revitalizing rain that washes away the blood of mankind
I’m from the mountains, its hidden lakes, cool breeze, and majestic beauty
I am from the Colorado Columbine; 14,000 feet up, protected and hidden
I am from racing home after church, Sunday naps, heated debates, and life lessons
From striving to be humble, respectful, and open minded
I am from understanding the world’s wisdom,
From taking what I can from the world to draw my path
I am from the world’s southern drawl, and western cowboy’s
From it’s raspberry jam and black-eyed peas.
I am from never underestimating, believing in the impossible, discovery, and hope
I am from fear, questions, and concerns
I am from any challenge, or uncertainty
I am Kyle Harris
