Alone in the Desert

December 7, 2007
By Mark Haber, New City, NY

Walking in the desert
Alone from all
Dust and dirt kicked up in my face
A barren wasteland of nothingness
Scorched land from a boiling sun
The wind is hot and dry like the earth
Stings my face
No life but me
All just withered and fallen
The sun above bakes down
I take a sip of water but none is left
All feeling fading
Lost to the desert
