Relationship Poem

January 21, 2008
By Anonymous

We were both young
And you were a pain
My friend’s little brother
Who would always tag along

An outsider you were
In our troop of girls
But persevere you did
And friends we became

Around the campfire we sat
Enjoying our time
Oblivious to others
On a path that would never join

In fourth grade, the girl scouts were in the talent show
As history would have it, my mom directed and I was the star
The princess of the Savannah
And you volunteered to be my prince

Then our ways parted
I went my way and you went yours
I went to middle school
And you went to La Salle

Reaching out again
For a love that never was
I miss you
Do you miss me?
