There’s a certain metal twang,
Warm Spring Afternoons—
That uplifts, like the thought
Of the start of June—
Burning Joy, it gives us—
We can see more grins,
Because the end has come,
Where the warmth begins—
An acquired feeling—
One earned through time—
An eternal nostalgia
That reminds of our prime—
When it comes, the grass is new,
The trees have grown their leaves—
When it stops the flowers die,
School upon its eve—
