A FORGOTTEN MOMENT

January 18, 2008
By Anonymous

Thousands of heads, thousands of feet,
Hanging between the gallows; noose in their necks.
Those dried-up bodies, a forgotten moment.

Condemned as a corpse, he will be hanged
For he is not well-built or strong.
"Bare your heads," three words.

Filled with tears, with agony,
Black shadow on the horizon, death in his arms,
Lividly the body trembles.

Spectators 'witness the torture with cleft in their hearts,
They eye for god but in vain
Last respects, then "cover your heads."

Prisoners march to the concentration camps.
Corpses soon are forgotten.
Prisoner Number has been sentenced.
