The Battle
Everyday is another battle
Another fight
Another war
Each day I struggle to stay alive
To stay free
To stay untouched
Everyday he tries to touch me
Tries to kiss me
Tries to seduce me
Each time I scream for freedom
Scream for him to let go
Scream to just get away
Every year he produces another baby
Produces another pain
Produces another lost in my life
Every moment I see him standing
I see him watching
I see him laughing
Everyday I try to get away
Try to end my life
Try to get free
But I know deep inside that no matter what
He’ll be there watching
Be there waiting
Be there preparing
I can’t win a war that was never mines to win
Never to accomplish
For the man that I’m fighting
Is my father.
