Once upon a time I galloped
Windlike on an amber sea
The golden land rolled out behind me
And I never felt so free

Wings that stretched to both horizons
Toes that barely scraped the sky
I knew I’d go on forever
Hopes and dreams that never die

Reality intruded rudely
Into my failing fantasy
One misstep, a deadly falter
Sights forbidden, lost to me
